“All the days of my life" - Psalms 23:6

"...all the days of my life" Psalms 23:6

In the first portion of verse six, we saw that Psalms 23 reveals the true nature of God. That nature is seen not just in the fact that He is good and merciful, but also in the fact that those qualities are certain. That is who He is and He does not change.

Now, we read how much David believes in God's goodness and mercy. They will never leave him. David declares that God's promises will always remain, "All the days of my life."

There is no wiggle room there. He doesn't say "most of my days", or "until I am too old" or "as long as I keep doing the right stuff.” God's promise of goodness and mercy never runs out. It never expires. He will always be good and merciful. Look at these 2 bible verses:

Ecclesiastes 3:14
"I know that everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it"

Matthew 24:35
"My words will not pass away."

Do you comprehend the impact of those words? God is ALWAYS there, ALWAYS able and NEVER failing. His word endures FOREVER. God’s promises NEVER fail.

He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. In a world that is constantly changing and never offering any promises or lasting peace, God is there to be that rock of stability for you.

Doesn’t that sound like what you have been looking for? Isn’t that what you desire more than anything else? This is why the Bible describes God as a Fortress, a Strong Tower, a Rock, Our Strength, the Ancient of Days, a Strong Refuge, My Shelter and My Dwelling Place.

Make your home in Him and He will always be there. His promises never fail.
