Foundations

Have you ever felt like your life is stalled and not going anywhere? Maybe you are struggling to make ends meet or you can’t seem to get your life into gear.
I talk to a lot of men and women who struggle with life. It is a difficult task to try to get them to truly understand this principle: when things are going wrong, ask yourself “Am I doing things right?”
Here’s what I’m getting at ... God has something to say about how we do things and why. Look at this verse:
Proverbs 14:12
“There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.”
What is that verse telling us? It is pointing out that God designs us a certain way and we work best when we do things the way He designed them to work. When we ignore our Creators’ explicit instructions regarding something and we do things our own way, things don’t go so well.
Our nation is reeling from our continual assault on what God has given us and turning it into what we want it to be. Marriage, family, church, worship, morality, ethics, religion, sexuality, gender and dozens of other areas of life are being redefined and changed to fit our own desires instead of God’s plan.
The result has been devastating. This process has created a generation of young people who have no attachments to God or family. They are confused and without direction. When we ask why our young people are dying of drug abuse and suicide, we can look right here. We have taken away their foundations and there is nothing left to stand on.
