"I will fear no evil, for You are with me" - Psalms 23:4

This is, without a doubt, the greatest statement ever made. Go ahead ... make your argument for any other sentence ever spoken. I’ll wait.
This statement is so incomparably powerful and life-changing that it became the actual name given to the baby Jesus by the visiting angel. Emmanuel: ”God is with us.”
God is speaking to you and I in Psalms 23. He is declaring His relationship with us. And this is His message through the song of David: Thou art with me.
This is why the 23rd Psalm is the single most popular work of literature ever written. It tells me that God is with me. Not just when I am happy. Not just when things are going great. Not just when I walk into church, but even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.
This is the unmistakable message of God to mankind:
"I am with you.” - From His promise to Moses “The Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp.” - Dt. 23:14
to the Book Of Psalms
“The Lord of Hosts is with us.” Ps. 46:7
to Isaiah’s prophecy
“I will be with you.” - Is. 43:2
to the words of Jesus
“Lo, I am with you always.” - Mt. 28:20
The message that God has for His people is this: “Do not fear. God is with you.” Even through the darkest of times. Let that sink in today. Take a minute to appreciate God's promise to always be there for you.
How dark is your Valley? How bleak is your future? How deep is your fear? It’s not too dark, or bleak or deep for Him. He is there making your dark valley brighter, your future clearer, your fear more manageable. Read His Word, go to church and pray. He will meet you there.
James 4:8
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”
