Psalms 1:1 “Delight In…”

What is your delight? What do you love the most? Yesterday, we did an exercise that was designed to show us what is most important to us. We ended by saying that the man or woman of God should have Him at the top of that list. When Jesus was asked what is most important, He said:
Mark 12:29-30
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
Not only that, in Luke 14:26, Jesus said that His disciples had to love God more than their brothers and sisters, spouses and even their own children.
Why?
It all takes us back to something that I preach over and over. You are designed to work a certain way. If you want a fulfilling and meaningful life, you need to work the way you were created.
God created you to love Him. That is your purpose in life. That means that loving Him is what makes you work best. When you love God with everything that you have, you become a better person. That means you will be a better husband, a better wife, a better parent, a better brother or a better sister.
So you see where this is going? You are at your best when you put God first because He puts His love in you and allows you to love others better.
Your delight should be in God, first and foremost. Maybe that’s what your other relationship are missing?
