Psalms 1:2 - “The Law of the Lord”

You and I live in a country where we grew up respecting the laws of God. This is rapidly changing. We are watching what happens to a society that rejects God and His law.
We now live in a post-Christian culture. That viewpoint has permeated our society. A culture that no longer loves God’s Word doesn’t understand right and wrong. That kind of culture is hostile to those of us who do. Our society has become upside down. The things that God says are good are now considered to be bad, and the things that we believe to be bad are now said to be good. When evil and good switch places it is inevitable that society will crumble around us. There's no foundation to hold it up.
When you have no standard for what is good, people will decide what is good for themselves. The people who are making those decisions have no foundation. No standard. No morals. The Bible describes a similar chaotic world like that:
Judges 21:25
“In those days … everyone did what was right in his own eyes.”
I heard it described this way: “We now live in a world where doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, the press destroys information, religion destroys morals and banks destroy the economy.” This is going on unchallenged by everyone but the followers of Christ. But when we speak up, we are shouted down as intolerant and hateful.
It is time for you and I to love the law of the Lord all the more. Only God’s Word will save a world that has lost their desire for Him. We must make sure that our houses are in order. That means we must know what we believe and why.
We understand the difference between right and wrong. Don't let anyone confuse you about that. Stand up for what you believe! We see what is happening and we can only pray and hold to what we love. It is Truth. We love Truth above all else. That Truth is contained in the Law of the Lord; the law that we call the Word of God.
Psalms 119:77
“May Your compassion come to me that I may live, For Your law is my delight.”
