WISDOM - 20 Amazing Bible Words To Know: (SOPHIA) Part 4
Those who have godly wisdom have the blessing of God in their lives. William Barclay points out these truths about godly wisdom in the Bible:
It is the property of God.
It is the characteristic of Jesus.
It is the distinguishing feature of great men and women.
It is the mark of every Christian.
You see, the believer understands that there there is a reason and a purpose for everything in life. That purpose is to please God. Colossians explains it like this:
Colossians 1:16-18
“For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.”
If you don’t get that, godly wisdom will always elude you because the world is different than you think. Earthly wisdom teaches that you are the main thing, that we are the center of the universe. Great men and women of God know better. True wisdom begins when we come to the realization that we are here for Him.
He is the center and there is no room for another on that throne.
Psalms 111:10
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments; His praise endures forever.”
